I’ve always enjoyed sending greeting cards as I find it’s one of the most genuine ways to stay connected, especially from far away. I can still remember the thrill of seeing a card in the mail as a child and realizing it was addressed just for me! Still as an adult, I love the simple surprise of a handwritten envelope in the stack of mail. But, plagued by forgetfulness, and frustrated at the last-minute scramble for a card & stamp, my intention to send greetings is often left deflated. So, I’ve set out to create a simpler way to send a greeting, with cards that you’ll enjoy sending as much as those special ones will enjoy receiving.

Design matters. We’ve gathered a handful of independent designers from around the world with a knack for creating joyfully unique illustrations. We want to create cards with playful and sophisticated design so you’re as delighted as the recipient.

We keep it local. Our cards are printed at a press company here in Chicago that specializes in traditional printing methods. We love the beautiful hand craftsmanship of a timeless letterpress or foil stamped card, and we believe that’s something worth sharing.

Beautiful cards deserve beautiful paper. We print our cards on a thick, tree-free paper made from 100% cotton, which is considered by the EPA to be a rapidly renewable fiber. It is also made from the by-product of cotton manufacturing, making it a product of otherwise wasted materials.

We need forests. Through your purchases, Paper Balloon helps support conservation efforts by donating 5% of company profits back to foundations that support and foster sustainability and regeneration efforts in our forests around the world.
